Corporate Ventures

For the past handful of months I have really enjoyed freelance work for an Austin based company that hires photographers to come out and document local businesses within my district.  It has been a lot of fun and very rewarding to have the opportunity to meet many different types of business owners.

So far I've met chefs, wine connoisseurs, restaurant owners, auto dealers, peanut distributors, mechanics, vape specialist, health and fitness coaches and so much more!!  It has been a lot of fun for me!

I always leave the sessions feeling like I've learned a little bit more about their industry.  It is evident that these professionals and business owners are passionate about their work and it really leaves me feeling inspired about my own line of work.

Here are just a handful of the friendly people I have come across during these sessions.

Valyn 6 Month

Look who is sitting up and pulling up and she is just 6 months???  It's Valyn!  She just can't wait to be able to keep up with her big sis, Stella!

It is always fun to see these precious girls!  I have really enjoyed documenting the Marchant Fam and their journey the past few years.  They have been blessed with two beautiful blue eyed blonde baby girls who aren't going to be babies for too much longer.

So I am so thankful that we are able to grab some of these fleeting moments between them all.

With all the cold we have been having, we loved how mild the temps were this past Sunday.. so we decided to enjoy their back yard for a handful of photos. Stella was loving on her baby sister and ofcourse she couldn't hold back her smile once her daddy got a hold of her with tickles.

It was a lot of fun.  I enjoyed seeing everyone as always.  This is such a fun age to capture! So much expressions were given.  It melts my heart!!!

Sometimes I just walk past their pen while they sleep and just look at them and smile.  I find myself counting down the days that we have left together..  Sixteen days to be of fact.

I have never experienced loving and nurturing a puppy that I knew that they would not be mine to keep.  It's tough as I see them bonding to me, trusting me, following me around, taking to my command, using the bathroom where they should be, running and playing and having not a care in the world. They play so carefree as though life is so grande and wonderful!

If I had one wish for these two pups it would be that they are adopted to someone that makes their life fun.. That they wouldn't have to worry about where their next meal will come from and that they will experience unconditional love from someone who is committed to see them through.

Will I foster again?

Absolutely.. It is hard work, it is also hard to let them go and always wonder what happens to them.  I will always want to look for them years to come and I guarantee when I see a dog that looks somewhat familiar as how I think they would look later on.. I will think about them.

I don't believe in limiting my ability to open my home to others. My heart has grown as it needs more room to love more... so the more I help, the more I love and the more I grow from this experience.

Mother Millie

It has now been two months since Millie's official adoption and seven months since her arrival at our home as a foster. I decided that since Millie has improved so much and does not require as much care as she did in the initial beginning, that it was time for me to foster more dogs in need.  This time there was a need for fostering two puppies.  I offered to help these guys for roughly three weeks until they are old enough to go on transport to another shelter.

They are two male lab-pit mixes that are 4 weeks old.  Their names are Jug-Head and Moose.. and my, what cuties they are.  It's been so long since I've been around a puppy that it is like I had forgotten how adorable they are as well as how much work they can be too!!

Never in my wildest dream would I have ever imagined Millie coming to my rescue and helping me with them.  She has truly taken on the role as their foster-mommy.  She will spend countless time playing on the floor with them, sharing the chew toys, licking on them and letting them chew on her gums, tail and ears.  They crawl all over her back as she licks on them and smells them as though she is nurturing them.  It makes me wonder if she at one time had puppies of her own.

I know Millie's presence has been a very positive experience for the puppies and I also know it has been a positive one for Millie too.  I like to think that she is paying it forward and showing them the love that she once desired and needed as I truly think she understands the need for second chances.
