It's not everyday that I get to photograph my awesome friend's baby!!! It makes my job even more rewarding when I have a chance to spend time with their awesome offspring.  Stella has just turned six months old and has already mastered the art of sitting up all on her own!

She is definitely a cutie pie with a smile that can melt even the coldest of hearts!  How could you not fall in love with this adorable little girl?

I have already been lucky enough to have met and taken Stella's newborn session already.  Jason and Amy have become good friends of mine.  I met them through my husband and the music scene.  A lot of exciting things have happened to this beautiful couple in the past 5 years!!

They have since gotten married, moved, had a baby, opened up a restaurant called BYOB, located in the Lakeview District ( I highly recommend checking it out) and seem to be rocking parents.

Stella is daddy's little girl and I must say that Jason is one lucky man to have these beautiful ladies in his life!

I always look forward to seeing these guys rather it be for photos or for some yummy food.. either way, it is always a good time well spent with the Marchant family!!

Lily Hope

Spring is officially here.. The moment most portrait photographers look forward to year round!!  I was supposed to have met this beautiful little girl several months ago but weather mishaps and reschedules kept us on hold.. well, some things are worth waiting for.

I was very pleased with not only how the photos came out but everything else seemed to fall perfectly in place.  The weather couldn't of been more perfect and Lily has the sweetest disposition!  She enjoyed exploring the gardens and of course she stole the show in her adorable spring dress and beautiful strawberry blonde hair.

Sometimes the best sessions are the ones that seem to fall effortlessly in place.  I left feeling very grateful to have met such a loving and sweet baby girl.  She helped put a smile on my face all day!

I have had some of the cutest sessions as of lately.  Jill and Eric are an absolute adorable couple who I met for the first time this past weekend. They are mutual friends of a previous client of mine, who graciously referred them my way.

They are expecting a baby in September and were wanting to capture some of the beginning moments as they recently announced their pregnancy.

I met them at the comfort of their home and decided to capture them with their two fur babies together.  We could not of asked for a prettier weekend to meet!  These guys were all smiles and I can't blame them.. they have a lot to look forward to in the upcoming months.  I was very happy to have crossed paths with these guys.

Plus One

I have worked many an event with this beautiful family before.. I've photographed many weddings that they've attended and have taken part with literally years of photographing their friends and family so when Maggie contacted me about doing a newborn session I was like 'YES'!

So, this past week we had our 'first' official photo shoot together! It was such a sweet one to start out on.  A baby girl named Avery was just the perfect piece to the puzzle.  Her big brother Barrett is still adjusting to all the baby stuff but I have a feeling that he is going to turn out to be just fine when he sees how fun a little sis can be!

I am very thankful that these guys did get in touch with me about photography services and ironic enough.. it was like we'd worked together a hundred times before.

Downtown Family Fun

One of the locations that I never grow tired of photographing is Birmingham's Historic Morris Avenue.  The character and charm of all the textures and colors make this location a top favorite among many photographers in the area.  It's a great spot to photograph year round and I find myself on this street many times a year.

I met with the Moore family this past weekend.  It was our first session together and everything seemed to be effortless.  The weather was perfect, they were all smiles and of course their adorable little boy Jackson seemed to have fun venturing new places.

First time sessions with new clients can be tricky at times as you learn to read one another and work together behind and in front of the camera but they made it all the more easier for me.. yep, the Moore family was just what I was needing to start out my morning.

BCBS - Team Building

Yesterday afternoon I was asked by the Blue Cross Blue Shield team to come and document their annual corporate event that they have at Ross Bridge Resort.  I was excited to hear that one of their team building skills was to build a bike for the Boys and Girls Club of America who had never owned a bike before.

Each team wrote an inspirational message to go on the front of the bike for each child to have. Everyone at BCBS was awesome to work with and they were all very enthusiastic about hopefully making a little difference in a child's life.

Little did they know that the children would come and surprise them at the end of the project.  There were a lot of smiles to be had by all!  It was such a sweet moment to see these guys excited and be able to meet the children face to face.  It made it much more personable and I could see the instant impact it had on everyone.

I learned a lot about the faces behind BCBS and met so many people from all over the nation.  It was a great experience and as always.. it is good to be back at Ross Bridge any chance I get.  This was my first event to document that was not wedding related and as always, Ross Bridge never disappoints.
